Meet Us

Everyone has a story to share, this is ours...

Commonlink Productions is a collaborative effort between life partners Mike Dickenson and Amy Schlotterback.  More than a decade ago we set out on a journey to create social and environmental change using the power of media. Today, our intention remains the same. Our goal is to employ our unique expertise in digital media to empower others to create a better world.

Since joining forces in late 2008, Mike & Amy have produced digital videos, documentary films, and web-based solutions for over 50 different social and environmental pioneers across the globe.  From eco-villages, to permaculture projects, beekeepers, activists, educators, travelers, healers, mentors, social and environmental geniuses and more - our travels have given us the opportunity to connect and collaborate with truly inspiring individuals.

We aspire to deliver raw, artful, and intimate perspectives into the people, places, and organized efforts on the forefront of solution-driven global change.

When you engage Commonlink Productions you receive a dedicated team with diverse skills in business and the arts.  Together, we have over a decade of experience with copy writing, documentary film direction and production, web-design, photography, organizational management, publishing, branding and digital design.  Our diverse skill set brings a unique touch to all of the projects we are invited to be a part of.

Amy is traditionally trained in Business Management, Computer Information Systems and Marketing. Graduating in 2006 from Texas Tech University she went on to work in Wireless Sales & Marketing for At&t Mobility. In late 2008 following the housing crash, Amy was concerned about the homelessness she saw around her and was thus compelled to write her first treatment for a documentary film about the issue.  This would be the first film project Amy would work on- but certainly not the last.  In the years to follow Amy would learn to apply her traditional training in business towards a multitude of projects across the globe - bringing her skills in digital storytelling to the people and places on the forefront of grassroots change and working together to expand the reach of important movements, projects, organizations, and initiatives.

Her work with grassroots organizations brought her to work with many conservation and outdoor education non-profits over the years. Utilizing her skills in website design, social media development, and print media design she worked with the Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center as the Director of Communications and Mt. Ashland Association as the Marketing Manager.

Amy has continued to expand her education in organizational management and practice over the years - acquiring non-traditional education in social permaculture, intentional community living, non-violent communication, conservation, and digital storytelling technique.  She shares her knowledge with youth in the Rogue Valley and beyond by organizing outdoor trips where young people can explore the natural world and modern day digital storytelling technique.

After graduating with a degree in English Education at Montana State University,  Mike left Elko, Nevada on a hitchhiking adventure which would culminate in Argentina almost two years later. His journey provided him with much needed perspective about the world and where we are going, both globally and individually. His experience has revealled that humanity yearns for positive change, that people are inherently good, and that anything is possible.

Following his trip Mike would whole-heartedly dive into various expressions of storytelling.  Working as a stand-up comedian, a wilderness guide, a teacher, a writer, and a filmmaker - Mike has honed his storytelling style & skill through a multitude of mediums.  He recently published his first novel and is leading wilderness based writing workshops along the Rogue River where he is a whitewater raft guide. As a modern-day storyteller, Mike brings his well-crafted perspectives in the arts to all of the projects he is a part of.

How We Work

Relationship is at the core of what we do.

How We Work

Relationship is at the core of what we do.

Commonlink Media Solutions are built on well established and consciously nourished relationships.  The work we produce is relationship driven and the result of integral trust-building practices, participation, and the desire to work together in collaboration.

It is not uncommon for us to work side-by-side the very people we film.  By lending one hand towards the projects driven by our changemakers while keeping the camera rolling in the other – we've had the opportunity to experience first-hand the power of remarkable people who are changing our world for the better.

Commonlink Production’s first line of documentary shorts and full-length films was branded, "The MapMakers", a film web-series based on relationships and perceptions.  As a traveling film duo, Mike & Amy used the power of storytelling and documentary film to explore the interconnections created while traveling unconventionally.  Endeavoring to connect with visionary social and environmental leaders in communities across the globe – these films aspire to inspire “maps” for the future.
